PHILLIP SEGO was an environmental advocate at the Massachusetts Sierra Club for over 15 years. His passion was garbage, and how we can produce less, recycle more, and keep our trash from threatening public health. He focused on the state's bottle bill, the state's 5¢ deposit on beverage containers, bans on plastic bags, bills to decrease mercury in the environment, and many other waste-related bills. He retired in January 2015.
