Philippe Cousteau is an Emmy-nominated TV host, author, speaker and social entrepreneur who has established himself as a prominent leader in the environmental movement, inspired by the legacy of his grandfather Jacques-Yves Cousteau. He and wife Ashlan produced and hosted the number one cable rated show, Nuclear Sharks, for Discovery Channel's Shark Week 2016. In 2015 they lead a three-part expedition series with Takepart.com, exploring tiger and rhino conservation in Nepal called Treasures of the Terai. In 2004 he founded EarthEcho International, a leading environmental education organization dedicated to inspiring youth to act now for a sustainable planet. With a over ten years in operation, EarthEcho has established itself as a leading youth environmental education organization. In 2012 he partnered with AdvisorShares Investments to launch the impact investment ETF, Global Echo Exchange Traded Fund on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE:GIVE). A percentage of the fund’s management fees support philanthropic projects around the world including the Panzi Hospital in Eastern Congo, an award winning hospital focused on the treatment and empowerment of women. Philippe and his wife, fellow adventurer and journalist Ashlan Gorse Cousteau, reside in Los Angeles.
