Novelist and columnist

<p>Pia de Jong is a Dutch novelist who moved from Amsterdam to Princeton NJ in the summer of 2012. Her novels include <i>Lange dagen</i> (<i>Long Days), </i>Prometheus 2008, translated into Italian; <i>Verso Nord,</i> Elliot, which won the Flemish Golden Owl award from the readers, and <i>Dieptevrees</i> (<i>Fear of Depths</i>) Prometheus, 2010. She won several prizes for her short stories and poems.</p><br /> <br /> <p>Among her contributions are columns for the <i>Financiële dagblad</i>, (<i>The Financial Daily</i>). She currently writes a weekly column for the Dutch newspaper <i>NRC,</i> called Flessenpost (Notes in a Bottle) about her life in the USA.</p>
