Pierre R. Berastaín

Undocumented #DACA; Gender Based Violence Advocate and Writer

Pierre R. Berastaín serves as the Assistant Director of Innovation and Engagement at the <a href="" target="_hplink">National Latin@ Network</a>, the national institute on domestic violence focusing on Latin@ communities. Before joining the National Latin@ Network, he worked as the Restorative Justice Advocate at <a href="" target="_hplink">Renewal House</a>, a domestic violence shelter in Boston, MA, and as the Co-Founder and Co-Chair of the <a href="" target="_hplink">Massachusetts Restorative Justice Collaborative</a>. He also served as the Director of Media Relations for the <a href="" target="_hplink">Hispanic Black Gay Coalition</a>, as Co-Chair of the <a href="" target="_hplink">MA Gay Lesbian Bisexual Transgender Domestic Violence Coalition</a>, and as a Fellow at the Gay Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation's National People of Color Media Institute. He graduated from Harvard College with a Bachelor's in Social Anthropology and from Harvard Divinity School with a Master in Divinity (M.Div.).
