Prasanna Ranganathan is a lawyer, international development specialist, writer, entertainment correspondent, and social media/communications strategist. A strong commitment to human rights has animated his work and his Master of Laws graduate thesis on international human rights issues was cited by the Supreme Court of Canada in 2014. After attending Columbia Law School as a Canada-U.S. Fulbright Award recipient, Prasanna has worked as a lawyer in a corporate law firm, with the Government of Canada, non-governmental organizations, and the United Nations. In addition to his work as a lawyer, Prasanna is a communications and social media strategist in the areas of film, television and awards season coverage. Prasanna has organized social media campaigns for books by Arianna Huffington and DeVon Franklin and for films such as Selma, The Hundred-Foot Journey, and The Butler for Oprah Winfrey, the Oprah Winfrey Network, and Sony Pictures. Prasanna is an Associate Producer and the Director of Marketing/Curriculum Development for Dream, Girl, a documentary on female entrepreneurs that premiered at the White House in May 2016. Finally, Prasanna served as the Social Media Correspondent for The Insider on CBS at the 2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards.
