Prune Perromat

Freelance multimedia journalist in New York. Formerly with the BBC and Agence France Presse

Prune Perromat is a freelance multimedia journalist in New York. First trained as a print reporter, she spent two years working as a reporter for Agence France Presse in France. She has had articles published in Le Monde and Liberation, and more recently on BBC News. A native French speaker, she is fluent in English and Spanish.

She grew up in the Basque Country, in southwestern France and lived in Paris and London for almost a decade before moving to New York, last year to study at Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. She graduated from the Sorbonne with a degree in history and Middle Eastern studies. Her thesis, researched and written in London, was entitled, "British repression of the first Palestinian Revolt 1936-1939." After a few months working for Radio France Internationale, she continued her studies at the Centre de Formation des Journalistes in Paris until 2006.
