Rachel R. Jackson founded Project Compassion, NFP www.projectcompassionnfp.org (PC-NFP) at just 25 years old. Since 2005, PC-NFP has assisted over 70,000 homeless, disadvantaged and low-income men, women and children with food, shelter, seasonal supplies, hygiene items, Life Skills workshops and Vocational Training. Rachel has received local and national attention for her work including being featured on the Tyra Banks Show (February 2006) receiving the Secret Deodorant Strong Enough for a Woman Award. In June 2008 Rachel was awarded the Powerful Difference Award by ABC Radio & Pine Sol and has been featured in the June 2008 and December 2014 issues of Ebony Magazine. Rachel has been featured in numerous magazines and articles including MORE Magazine (July/August 2015), Oprah (O) Magazine (2015), Glamour Magazine (2015), Gazelle Magazine (2015) and Southern Living (2015). Rachel was featured in Black Professional Women (2011 & 2016) and was honored as a Racial Harmony Phenomenal Woman (2011). Rachel and Project Compassion were honored by United Way at the Volunteer Honors Banquet (April 2013). Rachel received the BASIC Citizen of Character award (2014). Rachel is a 2014 L’Oreal Paris Woman of Worth”. Rachel received the Silver Presidential Award for her Community Service (2014). Rachel is the recipient of the Daily Point of Light Award (2015). Rachel is the recipient of the Lindenwood University Outstanding Alum Award (2015). Rachel is the Top Ladies of Distinction “Extraordinary Women” award (2015). Rachel is the recipient of the Delta Economic Development Corp Award “Heroes Among Us” (2015) Rachel opened the Compassionate Resource Center in Belleville, IL (2011). The Center offers classes and training to young women ages 16-35 and youth in grades 6th-10th. Rachel led the charge in PC-NFP receiving a Proclamation from the Mayor of Belleville, IL declaring October 29th “Compassion Day” in the city of Belleville (2014). Rachel has launched the first Self-Esteem & Self-Worth program called Empower-Me in St. Clair County, IL working with school districts to inspire youth and girls by building beauty from the inside first, character building and continuing education. Rachel is the host of the Girlz On Purpose Tour (2014). Rachel is the host of her own podcast/radio show “Brave Heart” with Rachel Renata (www.rachelrenata.com) Rachel is a motivational and inspirational speaker that has shared her inspiring story of “living on purpose” and empowered many more to do the same. Rachel holds a B.S in Business Administration and M.A in Professional Counseling; she is also a Certified Master Trainer in Life Skills, Self-Esteem, and Workforce Development.
