Ranveig Eckhoff is a Norwegian freelance journalist based in Berlin. Her writing focuses on travel, music, and nature conservation. She started writing professionally after having spent the first half of her career as an opera singer, touring Norway, Sweden, Germany, and Italy. She is the author of three books: Arie (Oslo: Tiden, 1994), Sing, Nachtigall, sing (Frankfurt: Fischer Verlag, 1997), and Italienske hemmeligheter (Italian Secrets) (Oslo: Press, 2002). She is engaged in work for the Global Nature Fund, an international environmental organisation, focusing on the "Living Lakes" project. She is currently working on a book, Living Hope, comprising stories linked to this lake network.
