Rebecca Harris Sullivan is a writer based in Boulder, Colorado. Prior to her life out West, she spent nearly a decade in Washington, DC. She has worked and written on a wide spectrum of topics ranging from international food policy to World Bank energy investments and accountability at the international financial institutions. She specializes in telling compelling stories that prompt policy changes, from the local level to global institutions. Her writing has been published in The Huffington Post, The Washington Post, Foreign Policy, and the New York Times. Active in progressive politics, Rebecca served on the Obama-Biden Presidential Transition Team and the Steering Committee of Foreign Policy Professionals for Obama. Her subject matter expertise includes poverty and food security, economic development, aid effectiveness, and transparency within the extractive industries. She holds a Master of Arts from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in International Relations and a Bachelors of Arts from Washington University in St. Louis in Spanish and International Studies.
