Rebecca Padnos Altamirano co-founded Tangelo, Inc., an innovation lab and venture studio in Silicon Valley. She co-authored the book Be The Change: Reinventing School for Student Success (Teachers College Press, 2015) where she tells the story of building East Palo Alto Academy High School through the lens of five students. Rebecca applies the lessons learned in the classroom to solving challenging issues through innovative approaches. Rebecca earned her BA from Wellesley College and her master’s degree from Stanford University. As a Thomas J. Watson Fellow, she traveled throughout South America studying Weaving of the Andes Mountains, where she met her husband. They live together in Menlo Park, California with their four children.
