Renay P. Cleary Bradley, Ph.D., is the Director of Research and Programming at the Relationship Research Institute—a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in Seattle, Washington, founded by Dr. John Gottman, dedicated to strengthening relationships through research (www.rrinstitute.org). Renay is a scientist and educator who studies children’s development within the context of the family. Her work focuses on the identification of family-level factors that encourage healthy child development and family relations, as well as those that discourage maladjustment. Renay has worked in both clinical and research settings with families that have encountered adversities, such as intimate partner violence, child maltreatment, mental illness, and poverty. Renay has a special interest in conducting research that provides a solid foundation from which we can develop and implement evidence-based programs and social services that help families, including those experiencing the transition to parenthood, such as the Bringing Baby Home Program (www.bbhonline.org). Renay also has extensive teaching experience and has taught undergraduate courses at the University of Washington on topics such as Research Methods in Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Abnormal Child Psychology, and Stress & Coping. Renay has received awards for her teaching, service to the academic community, and research.
