Rev. Dr. Mae Elise Cannon is the Executive Director of Churches for Middle East Peace in Washington, D.C. She is ordained in the Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC) and she earned her doctorate in U.S. history at the University of California at Davis. Her dissertation focused on the history of American Protestants' engagement in the Holy Land. She is the author of Social Justice Handbook: Small Steps for a Better World (IVP, 2009), Just Spirituality: How Faith Practices Fuel Social Action (IVP, 2013) and co-author of Forgive Us: Confessions of a Compromised Faith (Zondervan, 2014). She is the editor of A Land Full of God: Christian Perspectives on the Holy Land (Wipf & Stock, 2017).
