Dick Carlson was director of the Voice of America during the last six years of the cold war. He is a former United States Ambassador and former president and ceo of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. He is currently Vice Chairman of the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies, a Washington DC counter-terrorism think tank. He co-hosts the radio show "Danger Zone" on WMAL in Washington.
