Richard Rector is assistant professor of psychology at Birmingham-Southern College in Birmingham, Ala. His son, Ross, has been diagnosed with autism on the more severe end of the spectrum. He was recently selected to join the constituency board of the Alabama Regional Autism Network with the Alabama Interagency Autism Coordinating Council.
