Scholar, teacher, writer
Richard S. Cohen is an Associate Professor at the University of California, San Diego, as well as the author of two books on the history of Buddhism: Beyond Enlightenment (Routledge) and The Splendid Vision (Columbia). Currently, Richard’s work focuses on the wisdom and faith needed to live “the good life” in the twenty-first century, in a world poised on the edge of ecological catastrophe. Towards this end, his third book (in progress) explains the importance of mystery&mdash unknowing and unlearning—for ecological practice. Likewise, Richard is developing a Center for Regenerative Wisdom (deep in the Vermont woods) as a place for experiential workshops dedicated to ecological holism.
