Richard Stengel is the Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs. Formerly the managing editor of Time magazine, he has written for many publications, including The New Yorker and the New York Times. From 1992 to 1994 he worked with Nelson Mandela on his autobiography, Long Walk to Freedom.
