Risë K. Phillips

In 2009, Risë K. Phillips was selected to lead T.H.E Clinic in the organization’s commitment to expand services to the community. Since Ms. Phillips joined T.H.E., it has received accreditation as an ambulatory care center from The Joint Commission and is one of the first centers to be designated as a Primary Health Medical Home by the Commission. Services have expanded from the main Western Avenue facility to locations at six sites throughout South and West Los Angeles; the addition of a mobile clinic also broadens T.H.E.’s outreach to LAUSD locations and the number of patients continues to increase.

Throughout her career, Ms. Phillips has held leadership positions in the private and public sectors, as well as in the scientific research arena. Passionate about the plight of families and individuals with unmet healthcare needs, she has made significant, cutting edge contributions to policy, research, program development and services, and is well known for her work with government and political sectors at federal, state, and local levels.
