President, Memorial Bracelets

Rob Tacy revitalized the idea of wearing a bracelet to support a cause in October 2001 when he launched the Memorial Bracelets website located at www.memorialbracelets.com. To start Memorial Bracelets, he borrowed from the concept of the Vietnam War-era POW and MIA bracelets that Americans wore bearing the names of missing or imprisoned Vietnam soldiers they hoped would return. He created the site to raise funds for the families of the September 11th heroes and victims of terrorism, and so that their memory would never be forgotten. By donating $2.00 from every bracelet or dog tag purchased, Memorial Bracelets has donated over $78,000 to charities that provide support to the families of terrorist attack victims, fallen or wounded U.S. Soldiers fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan and those still looking for Vietnam War soldiers listed as POW and MIA. Rob posts the stories he receives from people who wear Memorial Bracelets at the Why Wear blog located at www.whywear.com.
