Robb E. Van Cleave

Robb Van Cleave is the chair of the Board of Directors for the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). Van Cleave has twenty years of human resource experience in the private and public sectors. With a background in education, business, government, and labor-management negotiations, he brings a depth of experience to this leadership position.

Van Cleave brings a unique perspective to the SHRM Board having served as an elected public official since 1995. He recently concluded his sixth and final term as Mayor of the City of The Dalles, OR, where he helped attract private investment that created new jobs after a severe economic downturn in 2002.
