Robert Shrum
Warschaw Professor of the Practice of Politics at the University of Southern California
Robert Shrum is a former Democratic strategist for 30 winning Senate campaigns, eight winning governors' campaigns for and mayors of major cities across the country. He was senior adviser to the Gore campaign in 2000 and the Kerry campaign in 2004. The author of No Excuses: Concessions of a Serial Campaigner, he is now Warschaw Professor of the Practice of Politics at the University of Southern California.
For the past four decades, Mr. Shrum has been on the front lines of the democratic process in the United States as an advisor to candidates for the presidency, Congress, and state and local political offices. He is perhaps best known for serving as a consultant on the campaigns of Democratic presidential candidates, including George McGovern, Al Gore, and John Kerry. Shrum has written articles for New York Magazine, Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, and Time, and has made frequent appearances as a political analyst on national television news programs.
