Rod Fujita

Rod Fujita started his career as a marine biologist at the venerable Marine
Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, Massachusetts, studying bays,
estuaries, salt marshes, and coral reefs. Academic interest turned to
concern as he documented the impacts of sewage pollution and other threats
on these ecosystems, and on the many services they provide to society. Rod
started working for the Environmental Defense Fund in 1988, and is now the
Director of Research and Development for EDF's Oceans Program, conducting
research in support of fisheries reform and working to identify breakthrough
solutions to ocean conservation and management problems.
