Vice chairman of U.S. investment banking, Lazard Freres & Co. LLC
Ron Bloom recently joined Lazard Frères & Co. LLC as Vice Chairman of U.S. Investment Banking, where his work focuses on mergers & acquisitions, restructuring, and infrastructure. He previously served as Assistant to the President for Manufacturing Policy and prior to that as a Senior Advisor to the Secretary of the United States Treasury. While serving at the Treasury Department, Mr. Bloom helped lead the restructuring of General Motors and Chrysler, and led the Treasury’s oversight of the companies thereafter, including GM’s IPO, the largest in U.S. history. Prior to his work for the Administration, Mr. Bloom served as a Special Assistant to the President of the United Steelworkers, where he led the union’s efforts to restructure the North American steel industry. Mr. Bloom was a principal and co-founder of the investment banking firm Keilin and Bloom and began his investment banking career at Lazard.
