Ron Kronish

Ron Kronish is the Founding Director of the Interreligious Coordinating Council in Israel (ICCI). Now retired, he is a noted rabbi, author, and speaker, blogger and consultant. He has lived in Jerusalem for the past 38 years, Educated at Brandeis University (BA), Hebrew Union College - Jewish Institute of Religion (New York) and the Harvard Graduate School of Education (doctorate in philosophy and history of education), Rabbi Kronish has published articles and essays on Jewish politics, faith communities and the peace process, as well as education, culture and contemporary issues in America, and he blogs regularly for the Times of Israel and the Huffington Post. In addition, he has lectured in the United States, Europe and the Far East on topics related to Peace-building, Inter-religious Dialogue, Coexistence Education, and Contemporary Israel. Dr. Kronish is the editor of Towards the Twenty-first Century: Judaism and the Jewish People in Israel and America, an anthology in memory of his beloved father, Rabbi Leon Kronish. In addition, he has edited three books of essays: Toward the Third Millennium and Pilgrimage in a New Millennium, and Coexistence and Reconciliation in Israel: Voices for Interreligious Dialogue (Paulist Press , 2015). Moreover, he is a Library Fellow at the Van Leer Jerusalem Institute, where his research focus is on inter-religious dialogue in Israel as a form of peace-building. He has recently finished writing a book on this theme entitled The Other Peace Process: Interreligious Dialogue, A View from Jerusalem, which was published by Hamilton Books, an impritn of Rowman and Littlefield, in September 2017 . Rabbi Kronish has been married to Amy Kronish for 48 years and is the proud father of 3 wonderful daughters (and father-in-law to their husbands!), and the even prouder grandfather of 5 fabulous grandchildren.
