Rosalinda Mercado-Garza

Chief Executive Officer of E-Colors in Education, Inc.

Dr. Rosalinda Mercado is the Chief Executive Officer of E-Colors in Education, Inc. Her undergraduate studies were completed at Abilene Christian University, earning a Bachelors of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. Dr. Mercado obtained both her Masters of Education in Educational Administration and Doctor of Philosophy in Curriculum & Instruction from Texas A&M University.

After 17 years of experience in the K-12 educational environment, Dr. Mercado completed her last role in education as principal of a secondary campus in Houston, TX. She transitioned from educator to run a nonprofit organization that offers human performance coaching and professional development to educational entities across the US.

Dr. Mercado wrote her dissertation on her life story. Living in Harlingen most of her life, Rosalinda moved to live at Sunny Glen Children’s Home in San Benito, TX. Her dissertation offers her personal narrative: From Being Considered At-Risk to Becoming Resilient: An Autoethnography of Abuse & Poverty. She recently contributed a chapter to a book published with professors from University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Her chapter is entitled From Being Considered At-Risk to Becoming Resilient: An Autoethnography of an Immigrant Child Finding Her Voice in Becoming a US Citizen.

Dr. Mercado served as a board member of Prevent Child Abuse Texas from March 2013 until June 2015. Rosalinda is an active member of the Junior League of Harlingen and sits in the executive board, as Member at Large. Rosalinda is a director with the Texas Lyceum. Additionally, Rosalinda has returned to Sunny Glen to serve as a board member.

Rosalinda currently resides in the Rio Grande Valley with her daughter Gisele and son Gael.
