Executive Director, Muslims for Peace, Justice, and Progress

I am a thinker, writer, speaker, and activist. My writings have been published in many newspapers, online magazines and blog sites in the Middle East, South Asia and some in America. I focus on three main areas: 1) I write about de-radicalization, conflict resolution, national integration, power-sharing and democratic governance in the Muslim-majority societies to promote good governance. 2) I also promote constructive engagement and good relationship between the West and the Muslim world as I believe that these two segments of humanity are heavily interdependent. These two can and should get out of the quagmire of the past policies and counterproductive engagements that have been enormously costly for the Western people and extremely detrimental and painful in the Muslim world. 3) I advocate a total reform in the Muslim world. I vehemently denounce extremism, radicalism, and terrorism and extensively promote liberal, democratic and universal values in the Muslim world. Therefore, I write about Islam and its universal principles and teachings towards achieving a through and through reform in the Muslim world. I believe there is no 'clash of civilization', the clash is between the oppressed and the oppressors. The goal of my life is to contribute towards conflict resolution, justice, peace, and harmony in the world to help alleviate sufferings of countless people. Prior to this I was a business woman, an importer and distributor in America and a graduate of the Carlson School of Management. I am also a mother of two sons. Currently, I live both in the United States and in Bangladesh, my native country.
