Ruby-Beth Buitekant is a law student, organizer and activist. She bases her work on the radical idea that humans should be free from state and interpersonal violence. She is student at City University School of Law in New York City. Before her legal education Buitekant worked as a anti-gun violence organizer for Youth Organizing to Save Our Streets in Crown Heights, Brooklyn at the Crown Heights Community Mediation Center. Buitekant is a graduate of Wesleyan University with a BA in African American Studies and American Studies concentrating on Race and Law.
