Samantha Garbers

Assistant Professor, Population and Family Health at Columbia University | Mailman School of Public Health

Samantha Garbers, PhD, has a decade of experience conducting evaluations of public health programs, with a focus on sexual and reproductive health interventions and development and testing of interventions to reach special populations including those with limited English proficiency or low functional health literacy, and sexual and gender minority youth and adults. Dr. Garbers currently serves as Project Director for the national Coordinating Center for the Healthy Weight Initiative for Lesbian & Bisexual Women. Dr. Garbers received her PhD in Epidemiology at Mailman School of Public Health and an MPA in Health Policy & Management from New York University. In 2012 she received the William Farr Award in Epidemiology, recognizing work in addressing social inequalities in public health.
