Sarah Jakes Roberts

Author, entrepreneur and motivational speaker; First Lady of One Church LA

Sarah Jakes Roberts is an author, entrepreneur and motivational speaker who is highly esteemed in both the Christian and secular worlds for her ministry, business expertise and entrepreneurial spirit.
In 2014, Roberts penned her first book, a memoir titled Lost and Found, in which she told her captivating story of survival and triumph after facing some of life’s most challenging obstacles. In sharing her story with openness and honesty, Sarah has inspired others all over the world to remain hopeful in times of hardship.

Currently, Roberts serves as the First Lady of One Church LA, alongside husband Pastor Touré Roberts, a role in which she utilizes her ministry experience to assist with the church’s internal operations, as well as provide insight and strategies to aid in the church’s long-term growth. In addition to overseeing the day-to-day operations, Roberts finds joy in getting to know the congregation, especially those she can inspire with her personal story.

Prior to her role with One Church LA, Roberts oversaw the women’s ministry at The Potter’s House of Dallas, a multicultural, non-denominational church and humanitarian organization led by her father, Bishop T.D. Jakes, which consisted of more than 30,000 members and four campuses.

Throughout her career, Sarah has received many honors for her charitable and inspirational work, including being celebrated as a National Overcomer by Pat and Emmitt Smith Charities in partnership with Good Morning America co-host, Robin Roberts. Additionally, Sarah has been featured in top tier media outlets including The Associated Press, Essence, Dr. Phil, and The Today Show.

A naturally gifted scholar, Sarah graduated high school in the top ten percent of her class and in the nation at the age of sixteen and attended Texas Christian University, where she studied journalism. She currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband, along with their five children.
