Sayak Mukherjee

Sayak Mukherjee, known to friends as Sy, was born in Kolkata, India but has lived in Orange County, California since the age of two. He is currently a junior at Dartmouth College, where is pursuing dual degrees in Government and Religion and is a brother at the Delta Beta chapter of Sigma Nu fraternity.

Sy has been particularly active in politics and public policy since 2008, when he interned for President Barack Obama's New Hampshire presidential campaign. He has been Political Director and Vice President of the Dartmouth College Democrats and is currently the organization's Acting President. Sy has also spent a winter as a research intern for the Faith and Progressive Policy team at the Center for American Progress.

He one day hopes to attend law school and then go on to craft health care and education policy. In his free time, Sy enjoys reading, cooking, independent music and cinema, and of course, politics.
