The award-winning essays and poetry of Susan Baller-Shepard has appeared in the Chicago Tribune, the Washington Post's "On Faith" section, Spirituality & Health magazine, Writer’s Digest, Joan Chittister's "Monasteries of the Heart" blog, the Tattooed Buddha, and other publications. Her poetry was regularly featured on WGLT-FM radio and appears in journals and anthologies. Susan was an undergraduate in the University of Iowa's Writer's Workshop,and has been an ordained Presbyterian minister for twenty-five years. She also has a master's degree in Social Work. Susan has held leadership positions in the local and regional levels of the church, and has worked on a variety of international development projects in parts of Africa, Brazil, China, and Haiti. She has also served as a keynote speaker at national and international conferences, including the "Examined Life Conference" at the University of Iowa's Carver Medical School.
