CEO, American Forests

Scott Steen is CEO of American Forests, a non-profit organization that advocates for the protection of our nation’s forests and works to restore damaged forest ecosystems. Since 1990, the organization has planted more than 40 million trees in hundreds of restoration projects around the world.

During his tenure, Steen has expanded American Forests’ efforts to protect and restore forests, and raise public awareness of the significant environmental and social benefits of healthy forests as well as the mounting threats they face. Previously, Steen served as executive director of the American Ceramic Society, chief knowledge and strategy officer at the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), an international, voluntary organization with 22,000 association and nonprofit leader members. Steen is a certified association executive (CAE), a fellow of ASAE, and the chairman of the Key Philanthropic Organizations Committee.
