Scott Uhrig

An executive recruiter and founder of Career Artisan, a program that helps people craft more rewarding careers.

Scott Uhrig is the founder of Career Artisan, a new program that teaches professionals how to navigate successful career transitions and craft more rewarding careers. He has spent much of the last twenty years as a top executive recruiter in Austin and Silicon Valley, but he is no stranger to navigating career transitions himself. After two years teaching computer science as a full-time faculty member and working on his Ph.D., Scott became disillusioned with the academic world and joined the ranks of corporate America. He enjoyed a series of promotions and more money, but little fulfillment. An early midlife crisis ensued, and Scott returned to business school, earning an MBA and a job with McKinsey & Company. Just three years later, Scott was ready for another change. For the first time in his career, he embraced the job search, navigating a successful career transition to become an executive recruiter. Today, Scott splits his time between Career Artisan and executive recruiting, allowing him to keep his finger on the pulse of the job market from the perspective of the candidate as well as the company.
