Scott Anderson is Senior Director for Access and Education at The Common Application. Scott brings over 20 years of college admission experience to The Common Application leadership team. He began his career at Vassar College and later worked at the University of Vermont and Cornell University. In 2000, Scott joined Mercersburg Academy (PA) as Associate Director of College Counseling and later was recruited to be the first Director of College Guidance at St. George's Independent School (TN) where he built the college counseling program for their new upper school. Scott joined the Common App staff in 2009 as the association's first Director of Outreach. In that role, he served as liaison to the counseling community. A leader in the college admission profession, Scott is frequently asked to speak and write on issues of counseling, access, and professional development. He has served on the Pennsylvania ACAC Summer Institute faculty and is past-chair of NACAC's Admission Practices Committee. Scott holds a BA from the University of Virginia and an M.Ed. from the University of Vermont.
