Shana Carroll

Shana is a trans woman living in Durham, NC. She is passionate about sharing stories of equality, transgender rights, and has a MA in Systematic and Philosophical Theology from the University of Nottingham (UK). Using her experience as an ordained pastor, and her current career in grassroots marketing she aims to educate people about the trans community, advocate for change, and give a voice to the marginalized. Her work has allowed her to travel the world working on behalf of humanitarian aid organizations, and at home she works for long term community development. She writes to reflect on her transgender experiences, and also to give insight into the intersection of Christianity and Queer Theology/Queer Studies. As a hobby she is an avid comic book collector, and Wonder Woman fan. And draws comic book art in her rapidly dwindling spare time.
