Serena Unrein

Public Interest Advocate, Arizona PIRG

Serena Unrein is the Public Interest Advocate for Arizona PIRG. She is responsible for coordinating the organization’s policy development, research, and legislative advocacy for Arizona PIRG’s transportation and government transparency programs.

Prior to her work at Arizona PIRG, Serena was the Executive Director of the Arizona Students’ Association, where she oversaw the statewide operations of the organization and developed strategies to keep higher education in Arizona accessible and affordable. She has led numerous successful campaigns, including ones to increase state-based financial aid, make textbooks more affordable, and increase student voter registration and turnout.

Serena is a 2003 graduate of Arizona State University.
