Shabnam Javdani is a scholar-activist whose research is characterized by a social justice focus, with an emphasis on the development, implementation, and evaluation of advocacy, mental health, and sociopolitical development programming for youth involved in the juvenile justice system. Her interventions models focus on changing the systems that disproportionately impact disenfranchised youth and families, and are currently being implemented across over a dozen juvenile facilities in New York City.
