Sharon Whitworth

Kentucky PTA Legislative Commissioner

Sharon Whitworth has been a PTA advocate for all children for over 36 years. She has served as the 15th District PTA president from 1987-89 and KY PTA president in 1993-96 and is now serving as the Kentucky PTA Legislative Commissioner working for issues that affect children in the State of Kentucky and the Nation. She has worked as the parent relation specialist for Jefferson County Public Schools for the past 23 years engaging parents to be involved in their children’s education. Currently she is serving as Project Lead of a National PTA grant to educate parents and the community about the common core standards. Through her leadership, her team has educated over 9,000 parents and community members since October, 2011.
