As Senior Adviser for South Asia at Girls Not Brides: The Global Partnership to End Child Marriage, Shipra is responsible for supporting membership engagement and national partnership development in South Asia. Girls Not Brides is a global partnership of more than 600 civil society organisations committed to ending child marriage and enabling girls to fulfil their potential. Based in New Dehli, Shipra has sixteen years of experience working at the local, national as well as regional level in South Asia with grassroots groups, international organisations and the Government of India. She has previously worked with Oxfam to develop a campaign aimed at reducing social acceptance of violence against women in South Asia Shipra is fluent in Hindi/Urdu and English and has a working knowledge of several other South Asian languages.
