Simon Tolkien was a successful barrister in London, specializing in violent crime, before moving to California with his wife and two children. His first novel, Final Witness, was published in 2002 to widespread acclaim. The Inheritance, his second novel, is a taut thriller set in England in 1959 that blends history, courtroom drama, and psychological suspense, delivering a high order of entertainment and intrigue, and it went on-sale April 13th, 2010 by Minotaur Books. He is the grandson of J.R.R. Tolkien.
