Simran Baxendale

Simran Baxendale is a student at University of Michigan, a travel enthusiast, ambitious and outgoing.

Born in India, Simran was raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan since the age of one. She is now an Engineering Student at the University of Michigan. On campus, Simran is an active member of Women in Science and Engineering Residence Program learning community, for which she will be returning to in the fall as a Peer Mentor, and a member of the Student Budget Advisory Committee for the Office of Provost. Prior to attending the University of Michigan, Simran was very active with clubs, sports and school organizations in high school. She rowed crew, swam, golfed, danced ballet and played softball. All while participating on the Nation Honors Society, Executive Board for the class of 2014, Rising Scholars, Champions for Charity Volunteer Organization through the University of Michigan, Thurston Players (an annual fundraiser for her Elementary School), Green team, Concert band, Marching band and Drum-line. She has held leadership positions as President and Treasurer of Indian Student Association in various years and Secretary for the volunteer organization Interact. She has been fortunate to tour Spain, Italy, France, Vatican City, and Monaco with People to People Origination. Outside of high school, Simran held two summer internships with the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Michigan and a Hostess Position at Cardamom Restaurant. In her scarce free time, Simran enjoys reading, traveling, watching stereotypical teenage shows and catching up on Hollywood’s latest gossips.
