Sonia Maria Dias is WIEGO´s waste specialist and an associate researcher at the Women’s Research Studies Center (NEPEM) at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). She has a PhD in Political Science from UFMG and a specialization in solid waste management from the Kitakyushu International Techno-Cooperative Association (Japan). Dias is an Eisenhower Fellow, a premier global network of leaders from all sectors working to better the world.
