Mordecai Schreiber is the author of Why People Pray: The Universal Power of Prayer. Rabbi, author, educator, writer, translator, Biblical scholar, and founder of Schreiber Translations (STI), one of the leading translation companies in the United States, Schreiber’s latest transformation is cruise rabbi. Most important, he and his wife, Hanita, have been married for 55 years, and are the proud parents of Joel Schreiber, Rachel Schreiber and Marla Schulman, and also the proud grandparents of Sophie, Sammy, and Claire. Born and raised in Israel, Schreiber spent six years in Latin America and is equally at home in Hebrew, Spanish and English. He has served congregations in the U.S. and Central America, and has worked as editor, translator and publisher, with over 60 books authored under his name and under the pen name Morry Sofer. Schreiber is an avid biker, swimmer, diver, cactus grower, and sailor.
