Stephanie Li is an associate professor of English at the University of Rochester and the author of Signifying Without Specifying: Racial Discourse in the Age of Obama (2012, Rutgers), Something Akin to Freedom, which won the First Book Prize in African American Studies (2010,SUNY Press), and a short biography of Toni Morrison. She also guest co-edited the fall 2012 special issue of American Literary History, "Writing the Presidency."
