Professor, author 'Authentic: How to be yourself and why it matters'

Stephen Joseph is Professor in the School of Education at the University of Nottingham where he teaches on the MA courses in counselling, psychotherapy and trauma studies.

Stephen obtained his PhD in 1991 from London’s Institute of Psychiatry where he studied survivors of disaster and how they cope. He now specializes in positive psychology, the science of well-being and human flourishing.
