Steve Courtney has been a journalist for more than thirty years, and was a writer and editor for The Hartford Courant for more than twenty. He now works at the Mark Twain House & Museum in Hartford as a publicist and guide. He has written on scientific, historical and literary subjects, serving as Deputy Editor of Northeast, the Courant's Sunday magazine, for five years. He served for a year as President of Sunmag, the national organization of Sunday magazine editors. He has interviewed such literary figures as Umberto Eco, Stanley Kunitz, Garrison Keillor and Henry Louis Gates. Courtney is married to Lisa Bower Courtney, and between them they have five children. He makes his home in Terryville, Connecticut.
