STEVEN L. DENLINGER is a memoirist, journalist and screenwriter whose stories center around themes of community, repression and redemption. His first memoir, How To To Tie A Tie, is a coming-of-age story that follows his departure from a sheltered Amish-Mennonite community in small-town Ohio and subsequent journey through the electrifying worlds of London, Hollywood, Los Angeles and now Seattle, where he lives with his wife—a Harlequin romance author—on a rural island in Puget Sound. STEVEN'S HONORS AND awards for writing and teaching include being front-paged on Huff Post in 2007, being selected as one of the Top Ten Teachers in Stark County, Ohio in 2000, being chosen as Outstanding Senior in English and Publications at Malone University in 1988, and winning an All American ranking as editor-in-chief of his college newspaper The Aviso in 1987.
