Suneeta Sharma

Vice President, Health Practice and Director of Health Policy Plus, Palladium

Dr. Suneeta Sharma is the Director of $185 million USAID-funded Health Policy Plus Project. Dr Sharma has over 20 years of experience in health policy, financing, and equity. She has expertise in leading and managing USAID global, regional, and country level projects, and providing technical direction in the design, implementation, and monitoring of workplans and budgets for FP/RH, HIV/AIDS, and health. She has a unique mix of skill set comprising technical expertise in health economics, policy, financing, and strategic planning; demonstrated ability in managing large projects and budgets; and experience of training leaders, policymakers, and managers. She served as the Director of $250 million USAID-funded Health Policy Project during 2013-2016.She served as the Managing Director of Futures Group India. and the Chief of Party of Innovations in FP Technical Assistance project focusing on design, testing, evaluating, and scaling up innovative public private partnership models. She served as Deputy Director for the $100 million USAID Health Policy Initiative (TO1) Project whose overarching objective was to foster an improved enabling environment for health, especially FP/RH, MH, and HIV/AIDS. She served as Asia and Near East Regional Director on the USAID POLICY II Project, providing technical direction and managerial support to the project teams in Egypt, Jordan, Nepal, Bangladesh, India, Cambodia, and Ukraine. As Assistant Professor in the Indian Institute of Health Management Research (IIHMR), she taught Health Care Financial Management, Essentials of Economics, and Strategic Planning courses to post-graduate students (Health and Hospital Management) and organized short-term management training programs for middle and top level policymakers and implementers. She is a distinguished public speaker and presented more than 20 papers in international conferences in less than 3 years. Dr. Sharma earned a Master’s and a Doctorate degree in economic administration and financial management from the University of Rajasthan, and a Master’s degree in health policy and administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
