Author, 'Swimming Solo: A Daughter's Memoir of Her Parents, His Parents, and Alzheimer's Disease'
Susan Rava spent 23 years teaching French at Washington University in St. Louis, where she and her husband still reside. Her short stories and op-ed pieces have appeared in the New York Times Book Review, the Christian Science Monitor, and Change, among others. Swimming Solo: A Daughter's Memoir of Her Parents, His Parents, and Alzheimer's Disease, is Susan's family caregiving story that was published in 2011. Susan is a lively speaker who is often invited by regional organizations to talk about the 14 years she and her husband spent caring for their parents until all four of them succumbed to Alzheimer's Disease.
