Susanna Barkataki is Founder & Director of Education for Ignite | Yoga and Wellness Institute She loves to learn and teach as shown by her Masters in Education, Ayurvedic Wellness Counselor, extensive yoga training in India and the US, E-RYT 500. She’s a member of Thich Nhat Hanh’s Core Community of Interbeing, is passionate about decolonizing yoga and practicing yoga not just as poses but as a way of life. She shares yoga to be authentic, accessible and with the aim to benefit everyone. Susanna’s family lineage is from Assam, India, where an ancient practice of teaching the traditions of Yoga and Ayurveda are practiced still today. Susanna integrates this lineage with the practical application of a Master’s degree in Education as well as a B.A. in Philosophy for U.C. Berkeley to create a personally fulfilling, culturally aware and socially relevant practice. She is the founder of Ignite | Yoga and Wellness Institute in Orlando, Fl. Ignite provides comprehensive Yoga Alliance Certified 200 and 300 hour yoga teacher trainings, Ignite’s mission is to support a new generation of wellness leaders in Central Florida and beyond. She teaches regularly at Omega Institute, the Hawaii Yoga Festival, the Race and Yoga Conference, Deer Park Monastery and for Yoga and Body Image Coalition and around the country leading workshops and retreats.
