A born reader, Susie Flaherty began writing at an early age and has never stopped. Whether it’s an engaging piece of marketing material, a thoughtful op-ed or commencement speech, a complex scientific article or a song, she has a knack for grabbing a reader’s attention. The nationally award-winning higher education writer and editor enjoys extensive experience in publications production, executive public relations, and strategic communications and marketing in higher education management and private business. As Communications Director at the Center for Celiac Research and Treatment at MassGeneral Hospital, Susie wrote Gluten Freedom with her boss, Dr. Alessio Fasano, and promotes MGH research to national and international media. She has received numerous awards for writing and editing and is a member of the National Association of Science Writers. She cultivates her creative side as a singer-songwriter; one of her favorite awards is finalist for New England Songwriter of the Year in 2008.
